Are you interested in enrolling on our Economics for Public Policy short course? Here’s your chance to hear from one of our course graduates, Olumide Onitekun.

Olumide is a Lead Project and Research Analyst from Nigeria. In this blog, he shares his reasons for taking the course, his favourite parts of the experience and how the course will help him in his career.

Why did you choose to study this course?

My overarching objective for taking this course was to leverage my research capabilities to conduct a well-informed and pragmatic policy paper, particularly in human capital, investment, and climate change. I decided to opt for this course to have a close feel and a snapshot of real time experience.

Why did you choose to study online?

I chose to study online because at the moment, it is the best option to go for. Most of my study has been onsite.

What was your favourite module?

My favourite modules were Why markets can fail (III) and What to tax and why.

How did you find the support you received?

The support was impressive and I was delighted by it.

What impact has this course had on your career?

Having completed this course, I feel confident in my ability to undertake roles and responsibilities in the policy space. Prior to this, my involvement was primarily focused on academic research papers in Economics. However, with the practical knowledge gained from this course, I now feel well-equipped to excel in policy research and formulation.

Would you recommend studying an online course with Oxford?

I would recommend actively participating in the discussion board with your peers. Engaging in these discussions provides a valuable opportunity to expand your perspective and approach.
